JOY moves impossible mountains.  JOY makes the world better.  I choose JOY in my life.  I am fundraising so that parents and kids with cancer can pick JOY instead of grief.

Let’s cure cancer in our lifetime. I am running the 10K in January to fundraise for the Dragon Master Initiative (DMI).  Instead of running the Disney challenge this go around, I will run one race and volunteer some of my time to support work for the DMI race weekend.

I love data and I have become friends with some amazing folks that operate and advocate for data sharing.  Let me tell you a little about the initiative.  The Dragon Master Initiative (DMI) has developed a cancer data center to change the world. The DMI seeks to expand CAVATICA, a free research tool that enables doctors and scientists to instantly share, search and analyze patient data. Expanding this tool will allow researchers to use big data to identify patterns and further their research to uncover cures for cancer more quickly. Through CAVATICA, real-time feedback is shared, allowing researchers to modify the trials as we move forward instead of waiting for the results. The platform provides researchers with the ability to find out what works and fails, faster. The initiative also connects patients and their families with the resources they need to help them get through the journey with as much support as possible.
