Since I started running about 8 years ago I have repeatedly set goals for myself, including running a marathon, but the Walt Disney World Dopey Challenge (5k, 10k, half marathon, full marathon in 4 days), always seemed too far out of reach. Last year I decided Dopey was a challenge I needed to accomplish and planned for 2024 to be my year. During the process of deciding to do this race I was introduced to the idea of Charity Bibs; fundraising for a charity to earn the bib versus just buying one straight out; this is how I discovered the Dragon Master Foundation. Having been in the medical field for 20 years, I know all to well how important medical research is, but how limited the access to research results can be due to proprietary restraints and other factors. The Dragon Master Foundation was established to promote collaboration in medical research and developed CAVATICA, a free, data analysis and sharing platform where physicians, medical researchers, and effected families can share information and trial results in the fight against pediatric brain tumors. Dragon Master also partners with The Children's Brain Tumor Network as they continue to look for a cure. Medical research should be assessible, and physicians should be able to access and analyze it for the betterment of our children. The work the Dragon Master Foundation is doing is very unique, and I am honored to be running for their "Team Fired Up",  and raising money to support their continued efforts in the fight again pediatric brain cancer.
