This January I'll be running my first Dopey Challenge in support of Dragon Master Initiative to stop childhood cancer. For those unaware, that's a 5k/10k/Half Marathon/Full Marathon on consecutive days! I've wanted to run this race for a while and wanted to do it in a way that did some good for the world by running in support of a charity.
After doing some research I discovered Dragon Master Initiative and decided to reach out and help their goal!
Dragon Master Initiative is a nonprofit that improves how medical research is done by increasing connectivity between treatment centers to share data faster and more efficiently. They are working with hospitals nationwide to gather quality research data and make it accessible to researchers worldwide instead of just individual siloed hospitals. This should decrease the time that trials take to complete and speed up new methods of detection and treatment!
Their initial focus is on pediatric brain cancer, however, their work will impact patients with many rare cancers and diseases. For more information, visit www.dragonmaster.org
