For those of you who may not know me, I have been a huge Disney fan the majority of my life.  So naturally when I decided to do my first half and full marathon, I signed up and completed those races with runDisney in Orlando.  

Next year I will turn 40 and want to do something a little different.  I decided to do the Wine and Dine challenge, which is 19.3 miles in two days (10k one day and a half marathon the next), but this time I will be partnering with the Dragon Master Foundation to help raise money for this amazing nonprofit. 

The Dragon Master Foundation was created to develop and expand the CAVATICA network which is a free research tool that enables scientists and doctors to easily search, share, and analyze patient data to better understand and hopefully find cures for cancer.

I’m sure everyone who is reading this has had a loved one who battled or is battling some type of cancer.  Two years ago my older sister and best friend were both diagnosed with rare, aggressive forms of cancer within a month of each other.  It was such a scary time for them and all of us who love them.  I am thankful for the teams of doctors and nurses that worked to help the people I love and so many others.  While we are blessed to still have them with us, I also have a close friend who just lost her husband to brain cancer.  I’m sure many of you have also lost someone you care about to this horrific disease.  

Cancer research is such a broad field with so many different forms, thus more research is always needed.  The Dragon Master Foundation is doing their best to make research easily accessible to those who can help find cures.
