I'm honored and humbled to be participating in TEAM FOLEY FOUNDATION RUNS THE 2025 MARINE CORPS MARATHON, a fundraiser supporting the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation. This is my second year in a row running this marathon and raising money for the Foley Foundation.

Jim was a college classmate and friend at Marquette whose bravery and moral courage are an inspiration. As a freelance journalist committed to seeking truth and sharing stories from the front lines in Syria, Jim was kidnapped, starved, tortured and beheaded by ISIS in August 2014. His family founded the JWF Legacy Foundation to secure freedom for Americans held captive abroad and to promote journalist safety. Shortly after Jim's death, Sam (my now rising senior at Marquette!) and I participated in the inaugural Foley 5K. While Sam won't be joining me (THIS YEAR!) for the marathon, I won't be doing this alone. Five of us will toe the starting line in October - all to bring awareness and raise money for this noble cause.
