I am running to help my sister, Michelle Barboza, raise funds to purchase more Spanish books for her school! My sister is currently the Bilingual Reading Specialist at Mill Street and supports literacy instruction for the students in the Dual Langauge Program. She provides intervention for studetns learning to read in Spanish and English as well as coaching the bilingual teachers in her school.
At her school she wrote a grant for a "Traveling Library" where students can take home books to practice their reading in Spanish. Unfortunately, this was many years ago and the library needs new and engaging titles. Please consider donating to her cause. Spanish books are more expensive than English books and so any donation would be helpful.
