I am walking the 5k to support two causes near and dear to my heart.
Half of the funds I raise will go to support NCHS Swim & Dive Team. This team has been such a huge and positive part of both of my kids’ lives. Through their participation on the team, they have gained leadership and time management skills and a sense of belonging. They've learned how to be resilient and it has even helped them secure their post-secondary goals with one swimming in college now and one committed to swim in college in 2025. PLUS the team usually doesn’t fundraise, so this would really help them out.
The other half will go to support NEF and their district-wide programs. Programs that provide essential resources to students from economically disadvantaged families, support teachers with innovative ideas, support STEM opportunities beyond the school day, and much more. I have a nearly 10 year working history with NEF and am personally very passionate about the work of the foundation. I’ve seen NEF support literally change the trajectory of a student’s life
