My Personal Fundraising Page
Hi everyone!
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
I attempted the Chicago Marathon last year but due to a stress fracture in my right medial tibial plateau, my training was impacted and I did not finish the marathon. However, this year I had a healthy training season and I'm ready to run the marathon! This running season, I completed two half marathon races (and will complete a third before the Chicago Marathon) and a 20 mile race. Thanks to my training group with CARA (Chicago Area Runners Association), I had a great group to complete my weekly long runs with.
It has been a dream of mine to complete the Chicago Marathon. I'm not looking to set any records. I just want to finish so I can check that off of my bucket list.
Now that you know my running story, why did I choose to run for Team OLA? I used to teach at a Catholic school within the Archdiocese of Chicago. Sister Stephanie Baliga appeared on a Zoom call with our students and told them about the work she does with Mission OLA, including feeding about 3,000 families per month. Seeing this as a worthy cause, I asked Sister Stephanie if I could run for her charity team this year. If you could help me out, but more importantly, help out the many thousands of people served by Mission Our Lady of the Angels, please consider donating to my fundraising page. Every little bit counts.

I'm running the 2022 Bank of America Chicago to support Mission of Our Lady of the Angels!
Mission of Our Lady of the Angels exists to provide material and spiritual support to W. Humboldt Park, Chicago- one of the most challenged neighborhoods in the US. The Mission feeds about 3000 families a month, provides additional material and pastoral support to families, youth, and senior citizens, and, most importantly, brings the love of Christ to a neighborhood desperately in need of hope. More info about the Mission at www.missionola.com.
Funds raised from Team OLA 2022 will be used to:
(1) Help the Mission expand its food pantry + other material distributions
-Mission of Our Lady of the Angels currently serves about 3000 families a month- and growing!
-Help the Mission continue to expand and improve this outreach.
(2) Help the Mission successfully start using its new outreach center!
- Mission OLA will be rolling out all of the *new* things in its new outreach center in 2022. The new 57 bedroom retreat center and social service outreach spaces will start to be put to use.
-There will be costs for last minute fixes of the building as well as for getting the programming rolling! Help support this roll out!
Donate today to be part of the miracle that is TEAM OLA!
The Mission is a 501(c)(3) and relies entirely on the donations of private donors.
