Why Our Lady of the Angels

Being my first marathon, I could not think of a better organization than Our Lady of the Angels to support. The work they do is marathon every day. Their determination is inspiring me to the finish line. Working in one of poorest neighborhoods of Chicago; these dedicated superheroes provide much needed support to nourish the mind and body of those most in need: (1) Food Pantries (2) Distribution of Clothing and Household Goods (3) Emergency Assistance (4) Afterschool programming (5) Senior Citizens' Programming (6) Community Dinners (7) Special Events Over the past decade, a dedicated running team led by Sr Stephanie has raised $1.5million that has gone right back into the community they serve to support this life-saving and life-giving mission.

I'm running the 2023 Bank of America Chicago to support Mission of Our Lady of the Angels! 

Mission of Our Lady of the Angels exists to provide material and spiritual support to W. Humboldt Park, Chicago- one of the most challenged neighborhoods in the US. The Mission feeds about 3000 families a month, provides additional material and pastoral support to families, youth, and senior citizens, and, most importantly, brings the love of Christ to a neighborhood desperately in need of hope. Funds raised from Team OLA 2023 will be used to:

(1) Help the Mission expand its food pantry + other material distributions

-Mission of Our Lady of the Angels currently serves about 3000 families a month- and growing!

-Help the Mission continue to expand and improve this outreach. 

(2) Help the Mission successfully start using its new outreach center!

-2023 will be the first full year of use of our new outreach center

-We will be hosting large retreats for service groups and parishes for the first time as well as expanding out social services to our neighbors out of the new building. 

-Help us to make this expansion possible with your donations!
