I'm running the 2023 Bank of America Chicago Marathon to support Mission of Our Lady of the Angels!
Mission of Our Lady of the Angels exists to provide material and spiritual support to W. Humboldt Park, Chicago- one of the most challenged neighborhoods in the US. The Mission feeds about 3000 families a month, provides additional material and pastoral support to families, youth, and senior citizens, and, most importantly, brings the love of Christ to a neighborhood desperately in need of hope. Funds raised from Team OLA 2023 will be used to:
(1) Help the Mission expand its food pantry + other material distributions
-Mission of Our Lady of the Angels currently serves about 3000 families a month- and growing!
-Help the Mission continue to expand and improve this outreach.
(2) Help the Mission successfully start using its new outreach center!
-2023 will be the first full year of use of our new outreach center
-We will be hosting large retreats for service groups and parishes for the first time as well as expanding out social services to our neighbors out of the new building.
-Help us to make this expansion possible with your donations!

Personal message from Elizabeth: As soon as I found out about Team OLA this past Spring, I knew I wanted to join and run my first marathon! I was in awe of the amazing work done by the Mission and wanted to support them through my running efforts. Personally, training for a marathon has been an incredible journey for me, starting while I was working in Switzerland this summer and now culminating back at school in Atlanta. I am motivated by the religious sisters and brothers of the Franciscans of the Eucharist of Chicago and desire to glorify God as they do through my running. Thank you for visiting my page!
