I'm running the 2024 Bank of America Chicago to support Mission of Our Lady of the Angels! And many may ask, "Why??"

For many years I've had it as a goal to run a full marathon. My mom ran the Oak Brook Half-Marathon with Team OLA when I was a kid and I thought seeing nuns run was the coolest thing, and decided I wanted to do the same thing when I grew up. Well, now I'm grown up and so excited to be on the team, living this dream!

I met the Franciscans at OLA when I was around 10 years old, and since day 1 they have shown the joy and love of the Lord in such tangible ways: open and welcome arms to visitors, learning a new language to communicate with their neighbors, and laughing, smiling and loving in the midst of chaos and difficulty. Over the years they have helped show me that living a life with Jesus and serving Him, in the Eucharist and in the people we meet every day, no matter how hard it may be, is truly a life worth living. 

Mission of Our Lady of the Angels exists to provide material and spiritual support to W. Humboldt Park, Chicago- one of the most challenged neighborhoods in the US. The Mission feeds about 4400 families a month, provides additional material and pastoral support to families, youth, and senior citizens, and, most importantly, brings the love of Christ to a neighborhood desperately in need of hope.
