This past year I have been on sabbatical and had the opportunity to pray, reflect, and look to the world with open eyes. We live in challenging and dark times but we also live in a time with amazing possibilities to help others. As Diana and I look to the next chapter of our lives together we are committed to being people who "carry the fire" of hope for others and use our time and energy toward lighting the fire of hope where we can. As one step in this journey I'm excited to share that I’ll be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro this summer on behalf of Opportunity International as a founding member of Team Opportunity!
Opportunity International seeks to challenge the narrative that poverty is inevitable for many in this world. With collective effort and humilty we have the resources to open doors and "carry the fire" of hope to many. This mission, paired with my passion to serve, made for the perfect match to take on a bold goal to raise $20,000 to help unlock opportunities for Malawian women living on less than $.50 a day. Through my training this year, I am working to help these women lift their families out of extreme poverty. With your support, women will receive resources to meet their immediate needs and empower them to start businesses, generate income, feed their families, and send their children to school.
