The Cause...

I'm excited to share that at Turn It Loose CrossFit, we are going to be doing a workout on Saturday, June 8th to raise money for this wonderful cause.

I am supporting Opportunity International because their mission is to create opportunities for Malawian women living on less than $.50 a day. This will help women lift their families out of extreme poverty. With your support, women will receive resources to meet their immediate needs and empower them to start businesses, generate income, feed their families, and send their children to school.

In honor of 10 Malawi women who live on 50 cents/day and are trying to raise families alone. Our CrossFit friend Steve is supporting Jeff Keuss (Professor at SPU), who is climbing Mt Kilimanjaro to raise funds for these 10. Funds will be used to assist these women in starting a small business that will be transformative in their lives.

Several boxes in the area over the next few weeks will do a "19,341" WOD (Workout of the Day) - for the 19,341' Jeff and team will climb. The WOD will also feature 10 rounds - for each woman we hope to support.

As each box does the WOD, athletes are encouraged to post their times at the link in the flyer - and use the opportunity to consider donating. 100% of funds support the women. (ie. travel costs are covered by the climbers)

See the attached video and flyer for more details. I'll have more flyers at the box!
