I'm excited to share that this sprinter (aka me, hahah) will be participating in the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon on behalf of Opportunity International as a member of Team Opportunity!
My heart has always been drawn to love, serve, and empower those who are often overlooked or forgotten. The mission of Oppurtunity International works to do this. Oppurtunity International works alongside women to offer resources to meet immediate needs and empower them to start businesses, generate income, feed families, and send children to school.
Having the oppurtunity to raise funds for this mission and run in one of the most iconic marathons in the world. I am beyond thankful.
Over the past year and a half of living in New York, I have fallen in love with the people, culture, and languages. Running this marathon in my new home, surrounded by my people feels like a dream. I am so thankful for this oppurtunity, and I am excited to give it my all.
My specific goal is to raise $10,000 to help unlock opportunities for Malawian women. Through my training and running this fall, I am working to help these women lift their families out of extreme poverty through this mission.
