Since 1969, Special Children’s Charities has been the driving force behind inclusion and empowerment for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Chicago. Special Children’s Charities aims to transcend boundaries and redefine possibilities by serving as a symbol of empowerment and inclusivity within both the disability community and the City of Chicago.
This year, more than 275 members of #TeamSCC will be running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon to help support our mission. The spirit of accomplishment, inclusion, and joy that are a key part of the marathon experience are what we strive to provide for thousands of our participants in all 77 Chicago neighborhoods. With your help, we are creating a more inclusive Chicago–one mile at a time.

Our HQ is a convenient and comfortable place to prep for your race and celebrate afterward. Located a half-mile from the starting line, we offer gear check, snacks, stretching, and race day essentials before the race. We also host a post-race party including a massage therapist, lunch buffet, and drinks for you and your family! There’s nothing more motivating than hearing your name announced by our DJ as you pass our cheering section of friends, families, and the participants you are running to support!
