My Personal Fundraising Page

I've been sidelined but won't stop raising $$$ for Special Olympics Chicago!

Well... best laid plans do not always work out.  I was doing everything "right" ... taking it slow, letting my body adjust to a new routine, eating right, sleeping, stretching and keeping my eye on the prize.  Turns out, as Shakira says, "the hips don't lie."  I started experiencing pain in my left hip and on Monday, June 10 I learned via MRI that I have a stress fracture in my femoral neck.  I have been ordered to no weight bearing for six weeks - for those who know me, sitting around is NOT in my wheelhouse.  So begins a new kind of training ... training myself to let my body heal and let others take care of me.

That said, I will not stop raising money for an organization I 100% believe in and support with all my heart.

My Dad always told me, to those who much has been given much is expected.  I am so blessed and grateful for all that I have in my life.  He also said be an advocate for others.  I believe connecting people through sports and physical activity is instrumental in spreading a culture of inclusion, acceptance, and joy. Special Olympics Chicago/Special Children's Charities is working to create a more inclusive Chicago... one mile at a time!

Team Special Olympics Chicago is a group of runners dedicated to supporting thousands of Chicagoans with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and even though I won't be able to complete the marathon, I am proud to be a member of this team.  I hope that you consider supporting my new efforts, and am so grateful for your devoted support to our life-changing mission.

If you wish to make a donation via check, please send to the address below and they will credit the donation to my fundraising page. Please make sure to include my name (or the person you would like to support) in the memo section.

Please make all checks payable to Special Children's Charities.
