According to RunRepeat, less than 1% of people in the US have EVER completed a marathon. So what kind of crazy person does it take to sign up to run a marathon more than once? It's me, hi!!
I am beyond excited to be running my second marathon in Chicago, a city near and dear to me, in honor of Special Olympics Chicago! Special Olympics is an organization that has been close to my heart ever since I volunteered as a track coach my freshman year of high school. So I think it's only fitting now as I lace up my shoes to run another marathon, I am doing it with Special Olympics in mind.
I believe connecting people through sports and physical activity is instrumental in spreading a culture of inclusion, acceptance, and joy. Special Olympics Chicago/Special Children's Charities is working to create a more inclusive Chicago... one mile at a time!
Team Special Olympics Chicago is a group of runners dedicated to supporting thousands of Chicagoans with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and I am proud to be a member of this team.
I hope that you consider supporting my efforts, and am so grateful for your devoted support of not only me but this incredible organization!
Again, thank you for supporting the thousands of Special Olympics Chicago's superstar athletes! #TeamSpecialOChicago #TeamSCC
