I am thrilled to share that I will be running in the 2024 Chicago Marathon with Team Special Olympics on October 13, 2024!

Special Olympics was introduced to me at Albion College (2010-2014) through the Student Athletic Advisory Committee and Albion Athletics partnership with Area 16. I had the privilege to serve as a Women's Soccer representative of SAAC, where one of the initiatives was to support and engage with local athletes in Special Olympics. As part of the organization, Albion hosted Special Olympics games where student-athletes would serve as volunteers and lead sports clinics for the Area 16 Athletes.

While I could feel the soccer clinic's impact on our Area 16 athletes, I couldn't help but selfishly feel its effect on me and my desire to continue making a difference through athletics. Running the Chicago Marathon has been a goal of mine for quite some time, and I am honored to dedicate my fundraising goal to impact the Special Olympics' mission further.

Throughout my life, I have attributed the person I am today to the influence and connections gained through movement. Physical activity is instrumental in spreading a culture of inclusion, acceptance, and joy - something I hope to advocate for many years to come. Because of this, I'm proud to support an organization like Special Children's Charities, which is working to create a more inclusive Chicago and world, one mile at a time.
