Since 1969, Special Children’s Charities has been the driving force behind inclusion and empowerment for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Chicago.
In 1977 my Brother-in law Doug was a torch bearer representing Kendall County for the Chicago land area. The inclusion he experienced with peers is something he always remembered. In addition to competing, the Special Olympics did wonders for Doug's confidence and life experiences.
If you are able, please consider helping me to honnor Doug's memmory as I compete in the Chicago marathon. The marathon will take me through 77 different and distinct neighborhoods. Each with their own differences and distictions not so unlike the athletes of the Special Olympics.
Again, thank you for supporting the thousands of participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Chicago!
