My Story

I began my life as a runner, but life happens, and myself as a runner had no longer been a core piece of who I have been in recent years. In wanting to return to this piece of my life, I decided to commit to running the 2020 Chicago Marthon and began my training and renewed my life as a runner last year. As we all know, 2020 did not go according to plan for the world, and the 2020 Chicago Marathon was canceled. After going back and forth about the 2021 Chicago Marathon, I finally decided to start my training again in an effort to complete my first marathon and raise money for a great cause. I will again be running to raise money for Special Olympics Chicago and look forward to the journey and possible impact ahead.

In my previous work in the non profit world and current work as a therapist, I see the profound benefit a program like Special Olympics Chicago can have to allow for inclusion, personal success, and acceptance. It is truly an amazing program and I am overjoyed to be able to run my first marathon for them this year. Any donations, encouragement, and support would be greatly appreciated and I'm so excited for this year's journey.

From Special Olympics Chicago:

"We believe connecting people through sports and physical activity are the beginning steps in spreading our mission of inclusion, acceptance, and joy. Together, we can cross the finish line towards more inclusive communities… one runner at a time!

#TeamSpecialOChicago is a group assembled of runners of all ages and abilities in support of the #inclusionrevolution.

We are so grateful for your devoted support to our life changing mission.

Should donors wish to make a donation via check, those contributions can be sent to us and we will credit to your page. Please make sure to include somewhere in the memo section or on a note, the name of the fundraiser you would like to support.
