I am trying to make my running journey not only about me and my goals but also about making an impact on the lives of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This is so close to my heart as my daugther , Amya, and her cousins, Mady and Tyler all have their own struggles which come along with their disabilities.I have seen first hand in my family how difficult it can be for children, teens, or even toddlers to be included and understood due to their disability or delay.  Special Children’s Charities has been the driving force behind inclusion and empowerment for children and adults with disabilities since 1969. 

Special Children’s Charities aims to transcend boundaries and redefine possibilities by serving as a symbol of empowerment and inclusivity within both the disability community and the City of Chicago.
