This whole journey to run the Chicago Marathon truly has been a roller coaster of emotions. When I first looked into running the Chicago Marathon, I immediately looked at the charities that were supporting the run and found Special Children's Charities (SCC) and knew this was the charity I needed to support. This is going to be my very first marathon ever (I'm crazy, I know) and I am grateful to support SCC throughout it. Not only do I get to run Chicago, support SCC, but I also get to experience/run this with one of my very best friends (pictured is our first half together - she is supporting Second City Canine Rescue under Amanda O'Guin if you would like to support her and that charity as well!). 

Not only do they focus on inclusion and empowerment for children and adults with intellectual and development disabilities throughout Chicago through athletics but they also use art, music, enrichment and education to help not just the children but the families as well. I am beyond honored to support this group and cannot wait for the memories and people I will meet throughout this journey. 

Along with running the marathon and helping be an advocate for individuals with disabilities, I am raising funds to help continue to fund this amazing group and would love if you could support me and all the wonderful people associated with SCC.
