I started running long distance my freshman year in high school in 2016. I joined the cross country team just so I had something to do but it turned into one of my favorite hobbies. I have been running consistently for the past 8 years. I've ran multiple half marathons and decided this is the year that I run a full marathon. A lot of people raise money for charity when they do big races like the Chicago Marathon, so I decided I wanted to try it too.
As I was looking through charities I came across special children's charities. "Special Children's Charities currently develops and funds a wide range of recreational, educational and social activities that encourage physical and mental health for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, ensuring that all individuals have access to high-quality programming." After reading about SSC's mission I decided I wanted to run for them. Now I'm not just running for myself, I'm running for others and would appreciate your support!
