This is my second year running the Chicago Marathon and raising money for Special Children’s Charities—and I couldn’t be more excited to do it all again. Last year, I truly enjoyed every part of the journey: training through the summer, learning more about running, crossing the finish line, and most importantly, doing it all in support of such an incredible cause. Thanks to the generosity of so many, I exceeded my fundraising goal—and I’m hoping to do the same this year.

Since 1969, Special Children’s Charities has been the driving force behind empowerment and opportunity for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Chicago. Their mission is to transcend boundaries and expand possibilities, serving as a symbol of strength and progress for both the disability community and the City of Chicago.

The spirit of accomplishment, joy, and determination that define the marathon experience are the same values Special Children’s Charities brings to thousands of participants across all 77 Chicago neighborhoods.
