VMAYA’S first marathon!!!

First and foremost thanks for stopping by my page. I appreciate any support/donation no matter how big or small! With your help, I will reach my donation goal! Soooooo… I DID IT! I finally pulled the trigger on running a full marathon and OF COURSE my first had to be a world major. After a handful of races and half marathons, I really want to get a taste of a full marathons runners high. My love for long distance running has grown since I first began when I could barely even run a mile...now I'm set to take on 26.2 miles! (crazy right??) I feel very grateful for this opportunity and for all the good that running has done for me over the years: mentally, physically, and by bringing me amazing friendships! I am excited to prove to myself that I can accomplish this goal and see how far my body can take me (hopefully through the finish line lol.) I WILL be part of that 1% of people that will run a marathon in their lifetime - uh how cool is that?! Thank you for your support!

Why I'm running for #TeamSCC

Since 1969, Special Children’s Charities has been the driving force behind inclusion and empowerment for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Chicago.

Special Children’s Charities aims to transcend boundaries and redefine possibilities by serving as a symbol of empowerment and inclusivity within both the disability community and the City of Chicago.

The spirit of accomplishment, inclusion, and joy that are part of the marathon experience are what we strive to provide for thousands of our participants in all 77 Chicago neighborhoods. With your help, we are creating a more inclusive Chicago–one mile at a time.
