Hi everyone and thank you so much for being here! My name is Hayden and I'm an occupational therapist by trade. Running and strength training have become huge passions of mine and play a massive daily role in supporting my mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Every day I wake up feeling blessed to pursue and perform the physical activity I do. Being an occupational therapist, I have learned firsthand that ease of access and enjoyment of physical activity spaces does not exist for many individuals with disabilities.
Since 1969, Special Children’s Charities has been the driving force behind inclusion and empowerment for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Chicago. Special Children’s Charities aims to transcend boundaries and redefine possibilities by serving as a symbol of empowerment and inclusivity within both the disability community and the City of Chicago.
Being able to run Chicago 2025 with Special Children's Charities is providing me the humbling opportunity of challenging myself physically, while also supporting a cause that ensures people of all abilities have the chance to experience the empowering benefits of fitness. The special charity aligns with so many of the values I hold dear as an occupational therapist and advocate for individuals with disabilities. I'm beyond excited to run the 2025 Chicago Marathon as a fundraising team member for Special Children's Charities, bringing together my personal, professional, and philanthropic values.
