Since 1969, Special Children’s Charities has been the driving force behind inclusion and empowerment for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout Chicago.

I am running to raise more awareness and opportunities for this community. I believe that we have the ability to make our voices heard and support our communities by how we spend our time and money. Serving as an Algebra I teacher in an underresourced school showed me the inequities across the US in education and I am running this marathon to raise awareness for the disabled community and promote more equity in both the athletic and educational opportunities provided to this community. Running has been such a privilege and I am excited to run for a community beyond just my own and I hope promote empowerment and inclusivity along the way.
