 I feel a personal connection to the children in Haiti. They are innocent victims of systemic racism, greed, inhumanity and natural disasters. They deserve to have better lives.

On Saturday, November 11, I will do my part by joining hundreds of volunteers at the Teaneck Packathon to pack 70,000 meals for school children in Haiti. We will pack at Hope Presbyterian Church, 1190 River Road in Teaneck, New Jersey. There will be three (3) packing sessions: 9-11am, 12-2 pm and 3-5 pm .

We plan to provide nutritious, daily lunches the entire 2024 year for the 600 children in the two schools that we support. In 2024, we plan to serve three packathon meals weekly and two locally-provided meals each week.

It will take a lot of food--rice, beans, vegetables and vitamins. In addition to packing, I must raise funds to buy these ingredients and to send for the provisions that will be purchased locally. In total, we need to raise $50,000. I am making it my personal goal to raise $14,000.

Teaneck Packathon is organized by Future Forward for Haiti, Inc. It is a registered 501c3 non-profit, with no paid employees, so over 95% of your gift will go to help in Haiti.
