Texas Epilepsy Walk is a rain or shine event. Participant safety is our top priority, and in the case of dangerous or extreme weather conditions, the event may be delayed or canceled. If conditions such as severe flooding, lightning, or other hazards are present, walk officials reserve the right to modify or cancel the event to ensure the safety of participants, volunteers, and staff.
THREATENING WEATHER CONDITIONS
The Texas Epilepsy Walk will only be canceled if there are extreme and unsafe weather conditions such as flooding, lightning, or severe storms that pose a direct risk to participant safety. The walk will continue in rain unless those conditions are present.
AUTHORITY TO CANCEL THE EVENT
The Walk Coordinator, in consultation with park officials and local authorities, has the authority to delay, modify, or cancel the walk for safety reasons. If cancellation is necessary, refunds will not be issued, as funds are committed in advance. Participants will still be able to collect their t-shirts and any walk materials during a later time..
BROADCAST OF CANCELLATION
If the Texas Epilepsy Walk is canceled within 24 hours of the event or sooner, participants will be notified by email and updates will be posted across all official Epilepsy Foundation Texas social media channels. If cancellation occurs during the walk, on-site announcements will be made.
