Learn more about Texas 4000 for Cancer and the Summer Ride
Texas 4000 for Cancer is a twenty year old nonprofit organization that cultivates college student leaders and engages communities in the fight against cancer. We empower students to take an active role in the fight against cancer by cultivating them as leaders who then serve as ambassador-educators, engaging communities in Central Texas and across the US through our cornerstone program: a 4,000+ bike ride from Austin to Anchorage, which serves as a symbolic metaphor of the cancer battle.
For the last two decades, our college student participants educate communities in cancer prevention, including getting college students and others signed up for blood, bone marrow and other health donation programs, while promoting cancer research benefits. Texas 4000 for Cancer has also convened thousands of people for community bike rides and cancer screen events, promoting healthy, active lifestyles. The collective work of our teams reduces the risk of developing the most preventative and/or treatable cancers, including skin, breast, colon, lung, and cervical. Our ride team has crossed the continent twenty-one times, spreading hope, knowledge, and charity, while also amplifying the important work of other life saving organizations.
