We were lucky–my grandpa’s cancer was very treatable, due to a century of work by doctors, researchers, activists, and donors, and he’s been cancer-free for ten years. I chose to be a part of Texas 4000 for Cancer to try and pay that forward. In this program, I’ll engage communities in the fight against cancer and develop valuable skills that will allow me to make an impact well beyond the summer ride in 2025. My hope is that one day, easily-treatable cancer will be the norm, not a lucky break, and your support gets us one step closer to that hope becoming a reality by funding groundbreaking research and critical support services for those currently battling cancer.
