Cancer was foreign to me growing up. Then a girl at my middle school got diagnosed with Leukemia. A friend from college shared her struggles with Hodgkin lymphoma. A sorority sister got diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma. I started to see cancer’s reach.
I wanted a way to fight for and with my friends, as they walked through their struggles with cancer. Then I heard about Texas 4000 and its mission to cultivate student leaders and engage communities in the fight against cancer and I knew that T4K was how I could join the fight.
T4K’s mission became even dearer to me this summer when my grandmother was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. She has successfully gone through treatment and is now in maintenance. She is the most positive and loving person I know and even cancer couldn’t take that away. My T4K journey has since become dedicated to her and her endless hope and enthusiasm.
Supporting T4K not only helps riders and the organization but also touches hundreds of people impacted by T4K by providing resources and support to those affected by cancer.
Help me in the fight against cancer by donating to my ride! Your support will go to Alaska and beyond and touch the lives of so many along the way!
