When asked about participating in Texas 4000, there was never any hesitation. I am honored to be a part of something bigger than myself, impact countless lives, and ride for Tia Tommie. I ride for my Tia Tommie — who unknowingly instilled in me a love of reading, an obsession with frozen chicken nuggets and fries, and unwavering faith in myself. As daunting as biking four thousand miles may seem, she would have been my biggest cheerleader, always there to remind me of my capabilities. Her love knew no bounds, despite the relentless disease that took her. I ride for my dog, Charlie, who got cancer last month. My best friend may not make it to see me at the finish line, but I know he will be with me the whole ride. I ride for my dad. Seeing him cross finish lines and hearing stories about his insane races makes me hope that one day I can live up to his legacy. I ride for anyone who has been affected directly or indirectly by cancer. The prospect of biking four thousand miles pales in comparison to the impact it could make in the lives of those touched by cancer. If you would like me to ride in memory of a lost family member or friend due to cancer, I would be more than honored to do so. I will ride not only for their memory, but also for the love they brought into this world. I ride for my 2025 team, who are brave enough to bike across the country to impact lives and spread awareness and hope throughout the country. Your support means everything to me.
