Both my dad and one of my grandfathers have had multiple skin cancers. My grandfather had one melanoma, which was luckily mild and detected early. Although he and my dad are both cancer free now, skin cancer is common and can be deadly. I chose to ride on the Texas 4000 for Cancer team for people who are not as lucky as my dad and my grandfather, and because I was inspired by the dedication that each rider has to fighting cancer. It is easy to feel overwhelmed by the fear of cancer, but the reality is that there have been significant advancements made in the medical field that make lots of cancers easily treatable if detected early. I feel passionate about this message and am excited to take part in the mission of T4K of spreading hope, knowledge, and charity. Through the training and fundraising process, I hope to become a more confident leader and make an impact in peoples’ lives. Donating will support our mission, care for cancer patients, and research on treatments and will make a tangible impact on those affected by the disease. Thank you for reading this and I would be so grateful for your contribution to my fundraising efforts and your support on this journey.
