Texas 4000’s mission is to cultivate student leaders and engage communities in the fight against cancer
Why I Ride
Cancer is a notorious word with the power to have painful memories flood the minds of people whose lives have been impacted by the disease. When I hear the word, I think of my uncle, whom I lost to cancer, Hong Kim. I have committed to ride to Anchorage, Alaska, because I believe Texas 4000 is the epitome of people being stronger together. I will train along with my eighty teammates to become adept leaders in our communities who seek to initiate positive change in the world beyond our time in college. Your support will not only bring hope and cancer-prevention knowledge to underserved communities but also allow YOU to become a part of a powerful, collective effort to one day change the memories people associate with the word cancer. Thank you so much for supporting my Texas 4000 journey - any contribution brings us one step closer to a world without cancer!
To Alaska and back,
Erin Fitzgerald
