I'm Shikha and I’m a fourth-year Management Information Systems major & Computer Science minor student at the University of Texas. I was born in Boise, Idaho but have lived in Austin, TX for the majority of my life. :) Off the bike, I enjoy going to hot yoga classes, volunteering at the Austin Animal Shelter and trying new food around town.
I’m thrilled to be participating in 2025 Texas 4000 for Cancer Team, a fundraiser supporting Texas 4000 for Cancer! I’m passionate about this cause and need your help! Every donation—big or small—helps me reach my fundraising goal and directly impacts this important cause.
Here is why I ride:
The loss of my childhood dog, Andy, to liver cancer and the passing of my grandpa, Dinesh, after his battle with stage 4 pharyngeal cancer, both within a week, have left raw wounds in my heart. These experiences made me aware of the indiscriminate cruelty of cancer and the overwhelming sense of helplessness it can bring to families.
Witnessing the suffering of loved ones and the limitations of medical treatments has compelled me to seek ways to contribute to the fight. These personal losses have fueled my desire to make a meaningful difference. Cancer doesn't discriminate, and neither should our efforts to combat it. I aim to transform my grief into a powerful force for positive change. I invite you to join me on this journey by contributing to my fundraising efforts. Together, we can spread hope, raise awareness, and support vital research efforts to combat cancer. Let's stand against cancer and create a future filled with hope and healing.
