Hi there! My name is Leanna, and I’m a fourth-year student at UT Austin majoring in biology and Plan II. Outside of Texas 4000, I love reading, going on runs around Lady Bird Lake, and exploring Austin’s live music scene. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
Over the years, I’ve witnessed the impact of cancer on numerous individuals in my life—from friends and family to teachers and teammates. While I can never fully know the extent of the challenges experienced by cancer patients, I recognize the importance of listening to and learning from the stories of those whose lives cancer has touched and the need for collective action in the fight against cancer.
As a member of Texas 4000 for Cancer, I’ll be biking from Austin, Texas, to Anchorage, Alaska, in the summer of 2025 to spread awareness and raise funds for cancer research and patient support services. If you’d like to support this cause, please consider donating on my page. Your tax-deductible contribution will help fund organizations dedicated to cancer prevention and treatment as well as support our leadership development program.
I ride for those affected by cancer, for those caring for a loved one with cancer, and for the hope of a cancer-free future. If there’s anyone you’d like me to ride for, I’d be honored to listen to your story. Please feel free to reach out to me at leannadoan@utexas.edu.
To Alaska and back,
Leanna
