One hot summer day, I found myself staring at an unassuming building at the heart of campus. Taking a deep breath, I walked into the very first class of my college career—Intro to Public Health. Here, I learned that quality of healthcare was so interwoven with a person’s income level that the two factors are near impossible to untangle. With a disease like cancer, this discrepancy in care can mean the difference between life, and death.
I joined Texas 4000 because this is an organization that works to lessen that gap. Through grants, T4K extends a helping hand to those who need it, and teaches students how to effectively engage in leadership and service so that we may continue to do so even after reaching Alaska.
By donating, you will be supporting cancer research and benefits such as prevention education and financial assistance for many, including in oft-underserved communities. Your contributions will bring us that much closer to eradicating the problem for good.
