I am a rider with the Texas 4000 for Cancer, a student organization at UT Austin that trains college kids to ride their bike from Austin to Alaska to raise money for cancer research and support. We start our ride May 17th!
Why I Ride:
My favorite place in the whole world is the parking lot of an old Dairy Queen.
There is nothing particularly scenic about this parking lot, but it’s the place that my Grandma would take me after picking me up from school on Fridays. For years, we’d go through the drive-through and then eat our ice cream, but cancer took my grandma away from me.
Now I'm not a doctor, but I still wanted to join the fight against cancer, which led me to the Texas 4000. Here I will be trained to become a leader in this fight, both in and out of the saddle.
Contributing to my ride will allow me to make tangible changes in the fight against cancer. Whether it's donating to groundbreaking research or educating communities, no penny is wasted.
Join me on this journey to pedal towards a future where cancer is just a memory.
