Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Texas Epilepsy Walk—Amarillo?

The Texas Epilepsy Walk is a community celebration and family fun walk that benefits the Epilepsy Foundation Texas (EFTX). Your participation helps fund our four pillars: specialized medical clinics, summer camps for children, mental wellness programs, and life-saving Seizure First Aid (SFA) education.

Before our walk through the beautiful Amarillo Zoo, we’ll gather for a celebration with music, activities, and community connection. Participants are welcome to stay and enjoy the zoo for the remainder of the day!

Is there a registration fee?

Yes. To ensure every dollar raised goes directly to our programs, we utilize a registration fee to cover event costs (Zoo entry and T-shirts):

  • All Attendees: $15

  • Mission Scholarship: We offer foundation-funded entries for families facing financial hardship. Please speak with your EFTX clinic coordinator or contact us directly at cwatson@eftx.org for more information.

Pro tip: Register by March 7 and use code EarlyBird to receive $5 off registrations!

Where do the funds go?

Your registration and fundraising help us reach our $25,000 goal to support the 1 in 26 people living with epilepsy. This year, funds are specifically fueling our the launch of our new Mobile Clinic Van, bringing specialized care directly to those who need it most, camps, and Seizure First Aid Certifications.

  • The Reward: Bring your certificate to the walk for an entry into our $1,000 VISA Gift Card drawing!

While we’ll miss you, all registration fees and donations are non-refundable and will be treated as a gift to the Foundation's programs.
