On May 2nd I am walking in memory of my grandson, Lucas for the 2026 Texas Epilepsy Walk. Lucas was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 5 and bravely fought his seizures for the next 3 years until ultimately, SUDEP (Sudden Unexplanied Death in Epilepsy) would take him away from us at the age of 8.
I walk in his memory and for the 1 in 26 that have and will be diagnosed with epilepsy.
Why I’m Walking: I am raising funds to support the Epilepsy Foundation Texas and its mission to provide specialized clinics, summer camps, and mental wellness programs to our community at no cost. Our goal this year is to make Dallas-Fort Worth the "Safest City" in Texas by leading the state in Seizure First Aid (SFA) certification.
