WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
This is a fun run/ walk. Everyone is welcomed regardless of race, age, sex, etc.. Participants will have an opportunity to line up with world famous athletes of African origin to take part in the 5km long fun run/ walk/ sporting festival. These famous Olympians will be joining us (including Derartu Tulu, Kenenisa Bekele, and Million Wolde) to encourage and support you.
Children can register and run/walk in the 1km run.
WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH MY REGISTRATION?
Your registration includes the 2024 edition participant packet including a T-shirt, a race bib, water bottle, branded bag, and other event materials. Finishers will be receiving the 2024 edition medal.
PACKET PICKUP
For pre-race packet pickup, you must have a photo I.D.
Pickup date and location: Thursday Oct 10 (from 11:00am to 7:00pm) and Friday Oct 11 (from 10:00am to 7:30pm). When you come to collect your race packet: Make sure that you have your photo I.D. with you; Do not forget to keep your tickets handy. Download them on your phone or print them out; Bring either downloaded or printed ticket to your chosen location for event packet pick-up. Please note that to take part in the Grand African Run; the tradition is that everyone needs to put on the event’s official T-shirt and a bib number. There will be screening at the entrance and please make sure that you are wearing your official T-shirt and bib number.
