If you're a friend or family member, you might already know about my long-standing involvement with God’s Child over the past 25 years. Soon after I was introduced to the organization by my generous mother, I embarked on my first trip to Guatemala. Since then, my family and I have participated in two home-building projects, one in June 2022 and another in March 2023.

After witnessing the dire living conditions faced by many in Guatemala during our visits over the past 18 months, as well as experiencing the immense positive impact a simple act like building a home can have, we feel compelled to extend this opportunity to others. Our aim is to recruit and coordinate enough participants and/or donors to build at least one home per year. As we hope to inspire more support and participation, our ultimate goal is to increase the number of annual home builds over time.

This endeavor provides a unique opportunity to positively change the lives of families living in extreme poverty. Typically, the new home is constructed adjacent to the family's existing makeshift dwelling, often comprised of scavenged materials like wood, branches, tin, plastic and a dirt floor. Witnessing the stark contrast between their current living conditions and the construction of a new home serves as a powerful motivation, offering a firsthand glimpse into the tangible improvements that will positively impact their lives.

We are currently fundraising to cover the $2500 cost of building a new home for an impoverished family. Having toured God’s Child facilities multiple times, participated in home builds and seen the profound difference they are making, we are honored to collaborate with them in this endeavor.

Initially, our aim was to reach out to individuals interested in joining us for this extraordinary and transformative experience. Recognizing that such a journey may not suit everyone's circumstances, we've received inquiries from those who wish to contribute financially to support the cause. This website serves as a platform to accommodate those generous donations.
