I’m honored to be paddling in this year’s Keiki Paddle to support Avery Scott—a warm-hearted 4-year-old from Santa Barbara who’s been through more than most of us can imagine.

In April 2024, Avery was diagnosed with a large brain tumor that required emergency surgery, followed by intensive chemotherapy and long hospital stays. He lost his ability to speak, walk, and eat—but never lost his spirit. After nearly a year in the hospital, Avery is now home, relearning to walk, regaining his strength, and bringing joy to everyone around him.

The Keiki Paddle is our way of showing Avery and his family they’re not alone. Only July 19th, I’m joining many of my friends and peers to paddle nearly 10 miles down the Santa Barbara coastline to support Avery—and I need your help.
