The Red Jacket: A 15-Year Journey
For the past fifteen years, City Year Baton Rouge AmeriCorps members have served as mentors, tutors, and positive role models to students across the community, providing additional academic and social-emotional support that is crucial for success. This year, our AmeriCorps members are on-campus, ready to serve - in an environment unlike any we've known. Even as COVID-19 causes an unprecedented moment of disruption to the schooling of Baton Rouge children, we know students will continue to dream big and strive for academic success. Now more than ever they need people who believe in their future - because students living in systemically under-resourced communities will face even greater challenges as they return to school. City Year Baton Rouge stands ready to support our students in whatever form school takes this year - in-person, virtual or a combination of the two.
With your help and generous donations, City Year Baton Rouge can continue to be there and support schools and students during this challenging time. We are striving to reach our anniversary goal of $15,000 for our 15th year by October 1st.
A decision to participate in City Year Baton Rouge's The Red Jacket: A 15 Year Journey is a decision to help Baton Rouge students reconnect with their school community, re-engage in their learning and recover from learning loss.
