Beta Alpha is an independent fraternity, so donating to THON looks a little different this year. However, we are still determined to raise money in the fight against pediatric cancer.
This year to help with our fundraising efforts, we've partnered with I'm Not Done Yet, a non-profit started in memory of Bobby Menges, a fellow Pike brother at Duke who died after his 3rd and final cancer diagnosis in 2017 in the beginning of his junior year. All donations will support THON 2024 - Team Pike!
All donations are 100% tax-deductible and receipts are provided upon donation!
Pi Kappa Alpha's Beta Alpha Chapter is deeply committed to supporting THON, the world's largest student-run philanthropy, founded in 1973 at Penn State. THON's mission is to conquer pediatric cancer by providing emotional and financial support to children, families, and researchers in the fight against the disease. It is known for its year-round fundraising efforts that lead up to a 46-hour dance marathon, symbolizing solidarity with children battling cancer. On February 16th, our fraternity chapter will join the Penn State community to stand up for families touched by pediatric cancer. This cause is very close to my heart because I lost my best friend Johnny Kinney to cancer. That loss changed my life and made me want to do something meaningful in the fight against this disease. By participating in THON, I want to remember Johnny and help other kids battling cancer. Our efforts with THON allow us to make a real difference and support those who need it the most.
