I’ve recently accepted the challenge to participate in the Timmerman Traverse, supporting Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation. This organisation funds brilliant, brave, and bold scientists who dare to go where others haven’t, pushing the boundaries of cancer research.
For me, this challenge is personal, professional, and deeply meaningful. As a child, I dreamed of becoming a scientist and discovering cures for diseases like cancer. That dream led me to pursue a PhD at The Institute of Cancer Research (now CRUK) in London. Over the past 20 years, my journey has taken me from the bench to clinical development to my current role in advancing technologies that aim to decode complex biology to cure diseases.
Sadly, like so many of us, my life has been profoundly touched by cancer. My father passed away at just 58 from lung cancer. This trek is for him—and for everyone affected by this relentless disease. It’s also for the extraordinary scientists and clinicians dedicating their lives to making a difference.
I’m honoured to join Luke Timmerman and an incredible team of Biotech Adventurers on this journey. I’m immensely grateful to my company, Relation, for their unwavering support in helping me take on this challenge.
Together, we can make an impact. Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to life-saving breakthroughs. Please consider donating to this vital cause—your support will truly make a difference.
Thank you for helping turn hope into action. Let’s conquer this together.
