In my time in research labs working to understand the fundamental biology that can go awry in cancer and more recently in biotech helping to bring innovative new therapies into the clinic, I’ve met some remarkable people who truly make huge impacts on our understanding of cancer and treatments for it. Those scientists, many of whom I am fortunate to call friends, often face unnecessary impediments and difficulty attracting funding for their research, especially early in their careers.  

As we have all undoubtedly experienced one way or another, cancer is an immense challenge – for patients first and foremost but also for families and for our society as a whole. We need to continue to harness all the determination and creativity we can to meet this challenge.

I’m doing this to directly support those who boldly bring unorthodox ideas or new technologies to the challenge of cancer. I’m doing this to support a community that is dedicated to the mission. I’m doing this to support those who will make the difference.
