We're doing it!

Friends, it's true! I'm trekking to the peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro and will raise money for the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation. For those of you who know me well, you know I lost my father suddenly in my mid-twenties. He was a veteran, Purple Heart medaled amputee from injuries suffered in Vietnam, and a brilliant (and difficult) human who lost his life too early from a skydiving adventure. I swore to myself from then on, that I’d take no grand adventures, or risks, for the sake of my family. However, when Timmerman Traverse presented itself, I had to reconsider! My father never let his disability stop him. His tenacity inspired me always to push myself to try to achieve more. And there were so many adventures that he wanted to experience, but didn't live to do.  So, here we are! I'm excited for the climb for cancer research and the Damon Runyon Research Fdn. In my daily life, I get up every day to advance potential medicines for intractable disorders of the brain. Many of the conditions with deep unmet need remain neuro-oncology indications with high mortality rates and few effective medicines.
