Together we can help end women's homelessness in Los Angeles
Almost a year ago I visited Downtown Women's Center (DWC) for the first time. As I walked through the residence at San Pedro Street and learned of the many big and small ways that staff empowered women, I knew that I had to be a part of this tremendous organization. And the rest is history. I'm so excited to be sharing our work with friends and family and together bringing much needed attention to the plight of unhoused women in Los Angeles. Downtown Women’s Center is the only organization in Los Angeles focused exclusively on serving and empowering women experiencing homelessness and formerly homeless women. DWC envisions a Los Angeles with every woman housed and on a path to personal stability. Founded in 1978, DWC was the first permanent supportive housing provider for women in the U.S.
